[Saba Sports News] According to French media reports, UEFA discussed a new coordination agreement between clubs and national teams during its Executive Committee meeting in Tirana. Recently, UEFA held an Executive Committee meeting in Tirana, Albania. Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi, representing the European Club Association (ECA), and French Football Federation (FFF) president Philippe Diallo both attended the meeting. During the meeting, UEFA raised the sensitive issue of the relationship between clubs and national teams and preliminarily discussed the concept of a new “coordination agreement.” In the coming weeks, UEFA’s medical department will seek broad input from all parties to advance this topic. In the future, this department may play a greater role in the relationship between clubs and national teams. Previously, Paris Saint-Germain issued a statement on Sunday calling for a change to the status quo following injuries to Ousmane Dembele and Desire Doue. The club hopes “these regrettable events will lead to the establishment of a new formal framework for medical coordination, ensuring systematic, documented, and mutual communication between club and national team medical staff, and strengthening preventive principles when calling up and using players, especially when they are undergoing treatment.”
