[Saba Sports News] According to the latest news from Italian media, just before the Champions League group stage match between Napoli and Sporting CP at Napoli’s home ground, violent clashes broke out between fans of both sides in downtown Naples. During the clash, chairs and tables were thrown, damaging nearby cars and shops. Eventually, with police intervention, six Napoli fans were arrested. Although the local police quickly intervened to quell the situation, the occurrence of the clash still exposed potential vulnerabilities in pre-match security measures. We believe that the behavior of extreme fans also damages the image of the team they support. This violent act by Napoli fans might lead to negative perceptions of Napoli club from the outside world, affecting the team’s reputation domestically and internationally. It could also attract attention and potential penalties from football governing bodies like UEFA, adversely impacting the team’s participation in competitions and its development.
