[Saba Sports News] Recently, former Ferrari Team Principal Maurizio Arrivabene explained Ferrari’s car development process and potential development risks, while expressing support for the current Team Principal Frederic Vasseur. Arrivabene told the media: “When you work inside the team, you understand certain mechanisms and certain technical difficulties. A supercar consists of 5,000 components, and you have four years to fine-tune it. An F1 car has 50,000 components, but you only have six months. If you make a mistake, you almost pay the consequences for the entire season, and it’s very difficult to correct.” Arrivabene praised Vasseur’s qualities: “He is a serious person and very knowledgeable. My days were easier because I speak Italian and could understand everyone’s nuances, all the words and thoughts.” Ferrari’s performance this season has not been as smooth as some might have imagined; they are the only one among the top four teams that has not won a Grand Prix. The Italian also explained the areas where he believes his former employer is lagging: “They are slightly behind in composites and aerodynamics because they continue to produce a better engine than anyone else. The British in the Oxford area have developed that technology and are leading. So, to close this traditional gap, as well as the gap in expertise and proximity to production-oriented universities, they still have a lot of work to do.”
