[Saba Sports News] According to the latest reports from Spanish media, Argentine football star Lionel Messi purchased a luxury villa on Ibiza Island in 2022. However, the property is now embroiled in legal issues due to alleged unauthorized construction. It is reported that the previous owner added rooms to the basement that were not included in the original building plan before transferring the villa to Messi. As a result, the San Jose City Council cannot issue the final occupancy permit or formally approve the villa. The municipal authorities have launched an investigation into these “serious violations” and stated that if the issues are not resolved, partial demolition of the villa cannot be ruled out. Although the unauthorized construction was carried out by the previous owner, Messi, as the current owner, must now face the ensuing legal complications. This serves as a reminder to conduct thorough and detailed due diligence in major property transactions to avoid similar legal disputes.
