[Saba Sports News] In the recent match where Borussia Dortmund secured a last-gasp win over Cologne, the winning goal scorer, Maximilian Beier, performed a dart-throwing celebration after scoring. Beier’s goal in the sixth minute of stoppage time sent the entire stadium into a frenzy. After scoring, he first leaped towards the corner flag in celebration, then paused in front of the South Stand to showcase his unique “darts celebration”: leaning his body forward, focusing his gaze, and mimicking a dart-throwing motion with his right arm. According to German media reports, this gesture stemmed from a promise Beier made with British darts legend Stephen Bunting. The day before the match, Beier met with Bunting, and the two even played a friendly darts match. Beier then promised Bunting that if he scored against Cologne, he would perform the dart-throwing motion as a tribute. The day after the match, Beier also visited the European Darts Championship held at Dortmund’s Westfalenhalle, stating, “I came with a few friends, but it will be quiet. We have an away game in Frankfurt mid-week, and I must maintain my condition.”
