In response, Ferrari Team Principal Frederic Vasseur also believes that both Ferrari and Hamilton need time to build rapport at the beginning of their collaboration, especially regarding some detailed issues. The seven-time world champion has experienced ups and downs in his first season as a Ferrari driver, but recently he gave positive feedback on adapting to the SF-25 car. After the United States Grand Prix, Hamilton said, “I finally feel like I have full control of the car.” A week later in Mexico, when asked how much effort it took for Hamilton and the team to reach this state, Vasseur explained the importance of ensuring the team masters every detail, given the exceptionally intense competition this year. Vasseur stated: “This has been the case since the start of the season. The competition this year is very, very fierce. Some drivers can climb from 18th to 3rd or 4th place, which means if you have any oversight, you will lose positions. Lewis needs – and the team also needs – time to fully align on certain details because any single detail now could cause you to lose a position. This means we need to be in complete control of everything, which is a clear goal for all of us.”
