[Saba Sports News] Chen Qingchen, a standout in Chinese women’s badminton doubles, has weathered many storms with her partner Jia Yifan, creating numerous cherished memories on the badminton court. After the Paris Olympics, Chen Qingchen repeatedly expressed thoughts of retirement. However, due to Jia Yifan’s unsatisfactory results after changing partners, Chen Qingchen returned to the competition court. Returning to the circuit, Chen Qingchen teamed up with new partner Keng Shuliang. They first won the runner-up position at the Asian Badminton Mixed Team Championships, then clinched the championship at the Sudirman Cup mixed team championships, quickly regaining their form. Subsequently, the “Fan-Chen Combination” reunited, participating in the Korea Open Badminton Championships in late September and the Denmark Open Badminton Championships in mid-October, with the French Open Badminton Championships in late October serving as their farewell international tournament as a pair. Looking ahead, Chen Qingchen announced she will embark on her post-retirement career. Regarding post-retirement placement, Chen Qingchen currently has three alternative options. The first is to stay with the Chinese national badminton team as a coach, assisting in nurturing the new generation of players. The second is to transition into teaching at a university, promoting the development of youth badminton training in schools. The final option is to return to the sports bureau, with the opportunity to choose an administrative career path or virtual roles, undertaking promotion tasks or pursuing self-development.
