[Saba Sports News] Recently, after Malaysian badminton coach Kenneth Jonassen publicly called for independent players to train at the national team’s training base, many independent players responded positively. Among them, Malaysian independent player Sholeh Aidil also stated that he would participate. However, in a recent media interview, when asked whether he would return to the national team, he expressed that he currently has no such plans. He explained that competing independently has given him more autonomy in arranging training and competitions, and his results have steadily improved. He prefers to continue developing as an independent player to pursue personal career goals and tournament prizes. Aidil has achieved considerable success in Malaysia. As a former national team athlete, he previously represented the Malaysian youth team and won the mixed team title at the World Junior Championships, adding glory to the country’s youth badminton program. In local multi-sport games, he consistently performed well and reached the men’s singles final, demonstrating his ability to defeat top domestic players. In internationally hosted badminton challenges and masters tournaments, he frequently advanced to the later stages, securing runner-up and semi-final finishes, proving his stable competitiveness in home events.
