[Saba Sports News] Recently, FIFA officially announced a partnership with the Dubai Sports Council to establish a new annual global award to recognize top performers both on and off the field. In the presence of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council, FIFA President Gianni Infantino and Sheikh Mansour, Chairman of the Dubai Sports Authority, jointly announced the creation of a new annual world football awards event in Dubai. This event is set to launch officially in 2026 and will become FIFA’s only official annual awards ceremony, bringing together the most influential figures in global football to honor the best players, teams, and achievements from the past year in this wonderful sport.
The announcement of this partnership was made during the World Sports Summit taking place in Dubai, where FIFA and the Dubai Sports Authority signed a memorandum of understanding to formalize their new partnership. FIFA President Infantino stated, “We are excited to partner with Dubai, a city passionate about football, to create this world-class event. This World Football Awards will not just be an awards ceremony but also a platform for us to celebrate the sport of football in innovative ways and recognize the official best performers both on and off the field each year.”
