[Saba Sports News] According to the latest media reports, the first Formula 1 car of German F1 legend Michael Schumacher will be auctioned. This is a 1992 Benetton B192 F1 car. The auction, organized by Broad Arrow Auctions, will take place online from January 23 to 30, 2026, with the car estimated to fetch over 8.5 million euros, and the final price is expected to exceed 9.97 million dollars.
After its retirement, the car was stored for a long time at Renault headquarters and was sold to LRS Formula in 2015, where it underwent a complete refurbishment before entering the current collector’s garage in 2016. This will be its first public auction.
I believe that the final sale price of this auction represents not just a number but a valuation of a legend—a tribute to an era. It acknowledges the historical value of racing in the market while prompting reflection on how to balance commercial interests, emotional value, and historical legacy, allowing the classic memories of F1 to continue in a more appropriate way.
