At 76, Abdul-Jabbar humorously remarked, “I just tripped,” and described aging as a humbling, universal experience. He’s currently recuperating in bed from hip replacement surgery and plans to take a short break before the holidays for recovery and family time. Abdul-Jabbar promised to come back with “a shiny new hip and a lot of shiny thoughts to share.”
