[Saba Sports News] According to reports from South Korean media, as the Badminton World Federation (BWF) announced a large-scale reform of its event structure and an increase in prize money starting in 2027, An Se-young, who has shown overwhelming strength, is expected to see her future earnings soar to astronomical levels. Having already entered the era of a $1 million (approximately 1.5 billion won) single-season prize last year, An Se-young’s career earnings, as reported by the BWF, have surpassed 4.2 billion won. The recently released BWF operational plan for the 2027-2030 season presents a significant opportunity for An Se-young, focusing on expanding the prestigious “Super 1000” series and significantly increasing prize money. The existing four Super 1000 events will increase to five each year, and the competition period will be extended to 11 days. The total prize money for Super 1000 events will leap from the current $1.45 million (approximately 2.1 billion won) to $2 million (approximately 2.9 billion won).
The editor believes that considering An Se-young’s sweeping victories at Super 1000 level events like the All England Open, Indonesia Open, and Malaysia Open last year, the economic benefits she will gain after the prize system reform will be immeasurable. In the future, every stage An Se-young competes on will become a glittering pathway to wealth.
