[Saba Sports News] According to British media reports, Oliver Glasner, head coach of Crystal Palace, has been banned from driving for six months after speeding in a 20 mph zone in London. Glasner is reported to have previous traffic offenses. On the morning of July 15 last year, he was photographed driving his BMW at 29 mph along a section of Old Kent Road in Bermondsey, where the speed limit is 20 mph — an offense that meant he was liable to an automatic driving ban. He pleaded guilty at Willesden Magistrates’ Court and submitted a handwritten note vowing not to break the law again. Last Tuesday, a district judge imposed a six‑month driving ban on Glasner in a single justice procedure hearing. He was also ordered to pay a £660 fine, £130 in court costs, and a £264 victim surcharge.
The editor believes that Glasner should recognize the seriousness of the incident and take steps to ensure such a mistake will not be repeated. Given his role as head coach of a Premier League club, he should also properly arrange his travel arrangements to ensure that personal traffic issues do not affect the normal operation of the team.
