[Saba Sports News] According to Spanish media reports, after the Barcelona presidential election, Víctor Font attempted to shake hands with the opposing side, but Alejandro Echevarría, an advisor to Joan Laporta, insulted Font. In this Barcelona presidential election, Laporta defeated Font and was successfully elected. After the election results were announced, Font congratulated Laporta, and then returned to his own campaign area. It was at that moment that he encountered Echevarría, who is Laporta’s former brother-in-law and a close confidant advisor. Font extended his hand to shake hands, but Echevarría said to him: “Get out of here, go home, hurry up!” Font and his campaign team immediately criticized Echevarría’s attitude, but Echevarría continued: “Go home, leave the stadium quickly.”
The editor believes that this reflects the tense atmosphere during the election, especially the constant verbal clashes between the two camps. It is worth mentioning that Font publicly criticized Echevarría a few weeks ago, claiming that he had ties to the Francisco Franco Foundation and labeling Echevarría a “Francoist.”
