[Saba Sports News] Recently, Tottenham Hotspur officially announced that Roberto De Zerbi has signed a long-term contract with the club and has been appointed as the new head coach of the first team. According to British media reports, Tottenham has signed De Zerbi on a five-year deal. The contract does not include a relegation release clause, but features a substantial survival bonus. De Zerbi was sacked by Marseille in February this year. He took charge of Marseille in July 2024, leading the side in 69 matches with a record of 39 wins, 8 draws and 22 defeats. He has previously managed clubs including Brighton & Hove Albion, Shakhtar Donetsk, Sassuolo, Benevento and Palermo. In his first season in charge of Brighton, De Zerbi guided the Seagulls to their highest-ever Premier League finish and earned them European qualification for the first time. During his most recent spell with Marseille, the Ligue 1 side finished as runners-up in the 2024/25 season and qualified for the UEFA Champions League.
