[Saba Sports News] According to German media reports, Yan Diomande, the 19-year-old striker of RB Leipzig, is embroiled in a multi-million-euro legal dispute over representation rights. Diomande’s former agency, Maxidel Management, has filed a lawsuit with the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) after he switched to the US-based company Roc Nation in February this year, with the dispute involving sums amounting to millions of euros. A company owned by Max Gradel, the 38-year-old former captain of the Ivory Coast, insists it holds an exclusive representation contract with the Leipzig forward. The deal was reportedly signed at the Africa Cup of Nations held in Morocco in late 2025 and is valid until December 31, 2027. The issue lies in the fact that such exclusive agreements are recognized in France, where Maxidel Management is headquartered, but not legally binding in Germany, creating a legal gray area. Diomande’s new representatives have taken advantage of this loophole.
The editor believes that the relationship between Diomande and his former agency has completely broken down. The only contact between the two sides at present is at the legal level. Although Diomande may have breached his representation contract, this will have no consequences for his future negotiations with RB Leipzig.
