[Saba Sports News] According to Spanish media reports, Morocco is steadily constructing the world’s largest professional football stadium — the Hassan II Stadium. Upon completion, the venue will have a capacity of 115,000 spectators and aims to host the 2030 FIFA World Cup final. The Hassan II Stadium is located in El Mansouria, Benslimane Province, 38 kilometres north of Casablanca, Morocco. Covering a total construction area of 100 hectares, it is jointly designed by Populous and the Paris-based architectural firm Oualalou + Choi. Its design concept draws inspiration from the Moussem tent, a traditional Moroccan social gathering venue. The stadium structure is sheltered beneath a magnificent tent-style roof, making it stand out strikingly amid the lush forest landscape. At both ends of the sprawling stadium, three tiers of steep, compact stands guarantee an intense and spectacular matchday atmosphere, with each end able to hold 29,500 regular spectators. The main stands on either side of the pitch feature five levels of hospitality areas, accommodating 12,000 VVIPs, VIPs, guests and box holders, including a royal suite.
The editor believes that the Hassan II Stadium adopts a British-style design, with spectator stands built close to the pitch. A total of 115,000 spectators will gather inside this electric, high-octane arena. It is believed that once completed, the stadium will be even more breathtaking than the current renderings.
