[Saba Sports News] After a disappointing retirement at the Canadian Grand Prix, Lando Norris quickly got back on his feet and headed to the Indy 500 to meet his former teammate Daniel Ricciardo and IndyCar driver Conor Daly for a relaxing get-together. Daly posted group photos of the trio on Instagram, showing them enjoying the electric atmosphere of the race. The reunion with old friends helped Norris put the setback in Canada behind him temporarily. It also marked Ricciardo’s first time attending this iconic event as a spectator.
The Canadian Grand Prix last weekend turned out to be a nightmare for Norris. McLaren opted for medium tyres for his start. The British driver made a brilliant getaway, surging from third to first and building a lead of around two seconds by the end of the opening lap. Unfortunately, the predicted rain never arrived, rendering the tyre strategy a mistake. Norris slipped down the rankings rapidly and was eventually forced to retire due to a mechanical issue.
In my opinion, this reunion is merely a friendly gathering between former teammates, with no implications of a racing comeback or cross-career move. It mainly reflects their good personal relationship and shows the respect F1 drivers hold for the legendary Indy 500.
