Using federal funding, police will deploy anti-drone systems across World Cup stadiums, team bases and public areas designated as no-fly zones. It is reported that Kansas City has awarded the anti-drone services contract to DroneShield. Tom Adams, the company’s Director of Public Safety and a former anti-drone expert with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), stated that the deployed technologies include hunter-catcher drones and drone jammers capable of disrupting unmanned aircraft’s control and navigation signals. Some advanced tools even allow security forces to take over suspicious drones and force them to land at designated spots. The anti-drone systems are designed not only to protect the team and the public from malicious threats, but also to deter any attempts to spy on and film training sessions.
