[Saba Sports News] According to Italian media reports, the Milan Court of Appeal has upheld the original verdict, meaning Inter Milan star Lautaro Martínez does not have to pay eight million euros to his former agency. The Argentine international joined Inter Milan back in 2018 and has since grown into the club’s captain. His former representative firm NF Consulting had previously demanded €8 million in commission as payment for facilitating his transfer to Inter Milan, sparking a protracted legal battle between the two sides. Lautaro originally won the case at first instance, and the appellate court has now ruled in his favour once again, exempting him from the payment. The Milan Court of Appeal ruled the agency agreement signed between Lautaro and NF Consulting contravenes FIGC regulations, rendering the contract null and void.
The editor believes that the ruling affirms a vitally important principle in sports justice: compliance with football federation regulations is not a mere formality but an essential prerequisite for sports-related agreements to hold legal validity before ordinary courts.
