[Saba Sports News] According to French media reports, the French Football Federation (FFF) will not have to slash its budget for the upcoming season thanks to a substantial increase in sponsorship revenue. The FFF presented its budget for the 2026-2027 campaign at a general assembly held on Saturday, which will remain balanced on the back of booming sponsorship earnings. Its sponsorship revenue has surged by 45% compared with the 2023-2024 season. Between the 2024-2025 and 2026-2027 seasons, income from commercial partners rose by 29 million euros. A major contributing factor is the new deal with Nike. The FFF secured a two-year early payment of the signing bonus under the new contract, totalling just under 50 million euros. This pushed the federation’s total revenue to 322 million euros. Driven by the revenue growth, the FFF will allocate 140 million euros to grassroots football, the professional women’s league and the country’s third-tier professional league. Funding earmarked exclusively for grassroots football has increased from 92 million euros in the previous year to 113 million euros.
The editor believes that the French Football Federation has included €12 million in revenue from the French Cup in its draft budget. However, issues surrounding the tournament’s broadcast rights remain unresolved. While the federation has reached a tentative annual deal worth €9 million with pay-TV platform beIN Sports, the contract is yet to be signed.
