A video circulating on social media showed that when the San Antonio Spurs returned to their hotel after suffering a dramatic defeat, they were surrounded by a group of Knicks fans. While most fans only hurled verbal taunts, footage captured several individuals throwing objects including eggs at the Spurs players. Victor Wembanyama was struck by an egg. He momentarily attempted to confront the fans but was quickly pulled into the hotel by his entourage. Police stated that those arrested were taken into custody across multiple stretches from Fifth Avenue to Eighth Avenue. Charges filed against them included assaulting police officers, illegal possession of weapons, and criminal mischief. An additional 41 people were released after receiving criminal summonses. Ten police officers were injured in the incident, with one sustaining a head wound from a glass bottle.
