(sabasports report)Former Newcastle United co-owner Amanda Staveley is in the soccer market for new acquisitions after selling her Newcastle stake earlier this month, football.London.com reported. There are reports that Tottenham Hotspur have caught her eye.

Spurs have said publicly that they would conduct due diligence on any interested potential acquirer and consider an investment proposal. Daniel Levy, Tottenham’s chairman, has been open to such a stance for the past 12 months. Last year, Levy had said, “ENIC owns approximately 87% of the club. We have 30,000 shareholders, the majority of whom are fans who own shares. It is our duty to consider any suggestion made by anyone. “But I would say we are not in talks with anybody, not in recent months.”
Levy further explained: “I’m not really interested in leaving Tottenham, but I have a duty to consider any suggestions anyone might make. It’s not about me personally, it’s about what’s right for the club. We have 30,000 shareholders who own about 13.5 per cent. We run the club as if it were a public company. If someone wanted to put a serious proposal to the Tottenham board, we would consider it with our advisers. We are open to anything if we feel it is in the interests of the club.”
