(sabasports report) Moroccan goalkeeper Yassine Bounou has given an interview to a Spanish radio programme in which he explained why a move to Bayern Munich this summer failed.

Bounou said: “At the time, Bayern and Sevilla were in contact. They asked me to wait, they said the club would send an offer soon, but in the meantime, they were also looking at other targets. “I can understand that Bayern just want a loan, it’s a pity, clubs [in Europe] don’t want to spend money now, it’s difficult.”

In the end, Riyadh Crescent paid 20 million euros to take Bounou away, an amount that other European teams would struggle to match. “It is very difficult for a club to spend money on a player like me who is 32 years old, not easy, not for Bayern or any other European team. At that point, I decided to wait, and that’s when the Riyadh Crescent offer came up.”
