As the “executioner” in the rivalry between the two teams, Brownlee again showed clutch dominance Saturday night, leading Barangay Ginebra to a thrilling 104-103 victory over the Meralco Bolts to take a 2-0 lead in the best-of-three PBA Governor’s Cup quarterfinals.
The Bromley, nicknamed “Justin Noypi,” made a key late block on Allen Durham before hitting a 3-pointer to complete his 39-point performance and put Gin Kings within striking distance of the semifinal. Coach Tim Cone and his team will have a chance to wrap up their quarterfinal showdown with the Bolts early with the first of three games at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium on Monday.
On Saturday in the Big Dome, Bromley had another huge performance, following up on his pivotal performance in Thursday’s opener, helping the Kings to a 99-92 win in the series opener.
