(SabaSports) The only player left in NBA free agency is Isaac Okoro, a restricted free agent from the Cleveland Cavaliers. Still, there doesn’t seem to be much going on about him lately. According to ESPN reporter Brian Windhorst, the Cavs have the upper hand in the negotiations, and no team other than the Detroit Pistons has the cap space to sign Okolo, which makes his market prospects less promising.
Windhorst mentioned that the situation is back and forth, but as training camp approaches, the signing situation will be clearer. He noted that the Knights realized that the money had been spent and needed to consider their next steps. In addition, Okoro can directly sign the qualified offer, the Cavaliers have also offered him a long-term contract, but the exact amount has not been determined.
Okoro averaged 9.4 points, 3 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 0.8 steals and 0.5 blocks in 69 regular-season games in 27.3 minutes while shooting 49 percent from the field and 39.1 percent from three-point range. In the playoffs, he averaged 5.5 points, 1.8 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 12 appearances and 21.9 minutes per game, shooting 35.7 percent from the field and 25.7 percent from three-point range. Okoro had a decent regular season, but the ups and downs of the playoffs significantly affected his overall performance.
