[Saba Sports News] England were drubbed in the second Test of the ongoing five-match series as India levelled the series 1-1 in Vizag.
Entering into the Day 4 of the contest, England were chasing history. The visitors had to pull off a miraculous run-chase. Had the Bazball side been successful in it, they would have entered the record books for achieving the highest run-chase on Indian soil in the Test format.
The hosts proved to be too good in the end despite England showing signs of a fight, courtesy of Zak Crawley’s fifty. India’s Jasprit Bumrah and Ravichandran Ashwin took three wickets each, leading the team to a 106-run win.
As there is a 10-day gap between the second and the third Test, which is scheduled to commence in Rajkot on February 15, Ben Stokes and Co. are set to head back to Abu Dhabi.
Notably, England had arranged a preparatory camp in Abu Dhabi before coming to India just three days ahead of the series-opener.
While England going back to Abu Dhabi could mean more practice, it is also being reported that the players have been given a break to rejuvenate themselves before the Rajkot Test.
