[Saba Sports News] After a breakout win, Converge FiberXers is headed for another bigger win. They edged out their rivals 114-112 on Wednesday and forced the series into a tiebreaker with a 114-99 rout of hard-charging San Miguel Beermen in the PBA Governor’s Cup quarterfinals on Friday.

FiberXers turned the corner to send the Beermen into a fifth tiebreaker on Sunday at the Janares Sports Complex in Antipolo, despite the absence of outside sign Jalen Jones for a landing violation on Marcio Lassiter.
Schonny Winston, Justin Arana and Jones each added at least 22 points, While Alec Stockton and King Caralipio added 16 and 10 points, respectively, for FiberXers’ bid to advance to the PBA semifinals in their third year playing in Asia’s first professional league.
Winston was strong in the third quarter, scoring 16 points, shooting 6 of 5 from the field and making free throws to lead Converge to an 88-79 lead with a 37-24 surge.
