Rondae Hollis-Jefferson nearly finished with a triple-double, leading TNT to its first win in the best-of-seven series, 90-81. RHJ added 26 points, 13 rebounds and nine assists while TNT played well defensively overall, holding the Elasto Painters to a sub-average of 108.3 points.
Tropang Giga outdid itself and managed to hold Elasto Painters to under 80 points. Previously, Tropa had allowed an average of 89.4 points per game.
“The only way we can win this series is through defense,” TNT coach Chot Reyes said. They were second in scoring, first in field goal percentage and fast break points, and we were first in defensive stops. To win the game, we have to limit their scoring.”
