[Saba Sports News] Erik ten Hag’s stewardship has again come under intense questioning after Manchester United’s defeat to Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford left them 12th in the Premier League table. “This is the worst Manchester United in 30 years,” said anchorman Piers Morgan.

Brandon Johnson opened the scoring just three minutes into the game. Dejan Kulusevski and Dominic Solanke each scored in the second half after Bruno Fernandes left the game in red. In fact, United would have lost by a bigger margin had it not been for a number of wasted chances by Spurs players. United have failed to win their last three games, scoring just once against Crystal Palace, Twente and Tottenham.
Manchester United’s poor performance has been criticised by industry insiders. Melissa Reddy, Sky Sports’ team reporter, said: “United have had some poor performances in recent years but this was one of their most abnormal. Their discipline and basic movements were poor, both when they had the ball and when they lost it. They were playing badly before B Fee was sent off, so that can’t be an excuse.”
Gary Neville, the football manager, said: “The pressure is going to get bigger immediately and it’s been a bad day for Tenghar. It was a shocking day and a sobering one.” He added: “United had the worst performance in the first half and it was absolutely disgusting. There are a lot of questions that need to be answered for this team and Tenghar.”
Piers Morgan put it blunter: “This is the worst Manchester United I’ve seen in more than 30 years.” Jamie Redknapp also said: “United and Erik ten Hag are going backwards. He can’t complain any more. The back four is in place, all the players are available and he has no excuses.”
