(sabasports report) Spurs have made a good start to the season, taking 13 points from five Premier League rounds and are currently second in the table. Tottenham coach Ange Postecoglou said the team was still in the early stages of rebuilding and needed to strengthen the squad, which would not be competitive enough to compete in Europe with the current squad. Tottenham finished eighth in the Premier League last season and are out of European competition for the first time since 2009-10. Tottenham have had nine departures this season and seven additions, with four goalkeepers and four Under-21s in their 25-man Premier League squad.

When it comes to the winter window and next year’s summer window, Tottenham coach Postecoglu said: “We are still in the early stages of the reconstruction period, although we have had a wonderful summer window, but the depth of the squad is not enough, we need to continue to optimize the squad, rebuilding the team only rely on a transfer window is not enough.”

“I still have a lot of targets, I will communicate with Levy, I want players not just pick one, but have to buy the players I want. I want to play in Europe and if we want to get into Europe and play well in Europe, then we have to upgrade our squad. If we had played in Europe this season, we would have struggled with such a thin squad.”
