[Saba Sports News] India captain Rohit Sharma reigned supreme in the third T20I of the ongoing series against Afghanistan at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru.
Rohit, who had scored ducks in the previous two matches, headed to this clash with humongous pressure. With India languishing at 22/4 in 4.3 overs, it compounded the concerns.
However, Rohit withstood a collapse, partnering with Rinku Singh for a 190-run stand and scoring his fifth T20I century in the process.
Rohit now has scored the most centuries in the men’s T20Is. He was tied with Suryakumar Yadav and Glenn Maxwell at four T20I hundreds prior to this fixture.
Rohit scored his half-century in 41 balls but teed off in the slog overs, smashing his hundred in the next 23 deliveries he faced.
36 runs came off the final over, which included five sixes, one four and a no ball. India finished at 212/4 with Rinku too scoring a 39-ball 69 midst Rohit’s thunderous ton.
