[Saba Sports News] India have claimed a series-win against Australia in the second ODI itself.
The Men in Blue hammered 399 runs with the bat and restricted Australia to 217 runs in the second innings, winning the match by 99 runs (DLS method).
The third ODI, which is scheduled on September 27 at Rajkot will be a dead-rubber.
As per an India Express report, Shubman Gill and Shardul Thakur will be given a break and are likely to not participate in the upcoming fixture.
While Shubman smashed a hundred in Indore, Shardul gave away 35 runs in his four overs and took no wicket.
In another report, Cricbuzz has revealed that Axar Patel, whose place in the squad for the third ODI was subject to fitness, has now been ruled out.
Axar suffered a quadriceps strain the Asia Cup 2023 during the match versus Bangladesh. He is expected to get fit for the upcoming World Cup.
If he fails to recover in time, India will likely replace him with Ravichandran Ashwin in their World Cup squad.
