(sabasports report)The Miami Heat and star forward Bam Adebayo have agreed to an early, three-year, $166 million contract extension, according to a report by prominent journalist Shams Charania.

The extension will keep Adebayor under contract with the Heat through the 2028-29 season. Adebayor has been a key player for the Heat over the past few seasons, making the NBA All-Star team three times (2020, 2023, 2024) and the All-Defensive Team five times (four second-team appearances, one first-team appearance).
In the 23-24 season, the 28-year-old Adebayor played in 71 regular season games, averaging 19.3 points, 10.4 rebounds, 3.9 assists, 1.1 steals and 0.9 blocks per game. As the core of the Heat’s interior, his overall improvement has also allowed the team to make the playoffs again this season and hopefully compete for the Eastern Conference championship.
The Heat and Adebayor’s early extension is undoubtedly to ensure the stability of the team’s core, for the team’s future challenges. Adebayor has also grown into an indispensable star player for the Heat, and his extension will undoubtedly inject lasting momentum into the team.
I believe that in the coming seasons, Adebayor and the Heat will continue to compete for the top honors in the Eastern Conference, bringing more wonderful performances to the fans.
