Trae Young’s services will eventually be offered to one of the Lakers, Pelicans and Spurs, according to people familiar with the matter.
It’s clear that the main reason the Lakers were shut out of the playoffs last season was the continuity of their perimeter shooting power, and D’Angelo Russell and Bruce Brown couldn’t handle that. Therefore, the offseason to bring a good shooting guard to this team is undoubtedly a priority. Both LeBron James and Anthony Davis are looking to bring in a third elite scorer to help them make a run at the championship. Ideally, the scorer has good organization so that someone can still lead the offense when [LeBron] goes off the court.
As a mature star point guard, Trae Young certainly fits the bill for the Lakers. He averaged 25.7 points and 10.8 assists last season and is a great point guard. His addition will undoubtedly greatly enhance the Lakers’ offensive firepower, and it is believed that he can better coordinate the team’s offensive rhythm.
