[Saba Sports News] It is not unusual for a tennis match to last several days, but it is quite rare for a badminton match to take two days to complete. Recently, Indian badminton men’s singles star Prannoy (Haseena Sunil Kumar Pranno) experienced such an event. Due to heavy rain, the Axiata Arena, where the ongoing Malaysia Badminton Open was being held, suffered from leaks, affecting the second court the most, where Prannoy was playing against Brian Yang in the first round of men’s singles. Ultimately, the match was forced to stop during the second game. At that time, Prannoy had won the first game and was leading 6-3 in the second. After nearly two hours of waiting, the match was finally allowed to resume. However, within minutes of starting again, the players complained that the court was still damp and the leaking issue persisted, causing the match to be postponed again. It is worth noting that this 32-year-old Indian player, who had been resting due to injury since the Paris Olympics last July, did not expect that his first match back would be interrupted by an unforeseen circumstance. In an interview, Prannoy expressed that during the initial two-hour wait, his body had cooled down, and he needed to listen to music to relax, spending a long time warming up. However, after resuming the match, he found the court to be slippery and unsuitable for continued play. Ultimately, he and Yang reached a consensus to continue the match the next day. Prannoy jokingly remarked that such a long wait was a completely new experience for both him and Yang.
