[Saba Sports News] According to Italian media reports, AC Milan has become the most fined club in Serie A this season. A new chapter has been written in AC Milan’s complicated relationship with taking to the pitch for the second half on time, which has apparently become something of a tactical ploy by Massimiliano Allegri. For arriving two minutes late for the second half of the Milan derby without a valid reason, the sports judge fined AC Milan €22,000 under the “objective liability rule” and classified the offence as “repeated misconduct”. With this penalty, AC Milan’s total fines solely for late kick-offs this season have soared to €107,000. Including non-late-related fines, AC Milan’s total fines for the season amount to €121,500, officially surpassing Lecce to become the most fined club in Serie A this campaign.
The editor believes that each time AC Milan delays the kick-off, apart from the direct financial loss, it also disrupts the advertising slots scheduled by broadcasters. The broadcasting agreement between Serie A and Sky Sports clearly states that the kick-off time must not deviate by more than 90 seconds, and such violations could lead to liability for the league. In September 2025, the league operator sent a letter to AC Milan asking for an explanation for the repeated delays, but received no substantive response.
