[Saba Sports News] Following the conclusion of the Austrian Grand Prix, Fernando Alonso, the Aston Martin driver, faced a penalty for an incident during the main race. Alonso’s car locked up in the T3 corner, resulting in a collision with Zhou Guanyu’s car. The race officials imposed a 10-second penalty and deducted an additional 2 points from Alonso’s driver’s license. As a result, Alonso now has a total of 8 deducted points, leaving him just 4 points away from the threshold of 12 points that would lead to an automatic suspension. While driver penalty points are automatically deducted after one year, Alonso will have to wait until March 24 of next year for the removal of three points, meaning there are still 15 races to go. Therefore, a cautious strategy is necessary for Alonso in the upcoming races. Penalty points on super licenses are a common form of punishment in F1 for rule violations or dangerous driving, and the FIA may deduct points accordingly.
