[Saba Sports News] According to Brazilian media reports, Dani Alves, who was released from prison in March this year, has become a preacher. Previously, Alves was sentenced to four and a half years in prison for sexual assault allegations but was ultimately acquitted by the Catalan High Court in March 2024 after serving 14 months. Recently, he appeared in a church in Girona, Spain, as an evangelical preacher, declaring, “I have made a pact with God.” Alves’s social media bio currently reads: “Believer in God.” The captions for his posts are all classic passages from the Bible. Once considered one of the best full-backs in the world, Alves’s off-field life was always glamorous. Now, he leads a completely different life, surrounding himself with God, religion, and family. Alves shared his transformation during an event at the church, saying gratefully, “They took me in, brought me to church, and guided me onto the path I’m on now. Love is loving when the other person deserves to be loved, just as Christ did for me and for you.” The church Alves attends holds services every Tuesday and Sunday, and he is regarded as a model of transformation. His speech deeply moved the believers present, who responded with warm applause and cheers.
