[Saba Sports News] According to recent reports from Brazilian media, former Brazilian international Dani Alves, currently in prison, has faced another unfortunate event. His former club, Club America in Mexico, has announced that they are suing Alves. The club believes that Alves’ arrest and conviction violate relevant clauses in their contract, causing reputation and financial losses. Therefore, the club has filed a lawsuit with the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). Club America is seeking $5 million in damages. This amount is based on the compensation clause in the contract regarding player misconduct that leads to club losses, as Alves’ actions severely violated the disciplinary clauses in the contract and negatively impacted the club’s reputation. From a contractual perspective, Alves, as a professional player, should adhere to the terms and agreements in the labor contract signed with the club. His actions have violated the disciplinary clauses of the contract, causing reputation and financial damage to the club, and the club is entitled to seek compensation based on the contract.
