[Saba Sports News] During the summer transfer window, Chelsea signed 21-year-old Argentine winger Alejandro Garnacho from Manchester United for £40 million, with a contract including a 10% sell-on clause. This sale is the fourth highest in Manchester United’s history and the highest fee received for an academy graduate. According to British media reports, the fundamental reason for Garnacho’s departure was his completely broken relationship with Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim. After losing the Europa League final to Tottenham Hotspur last season, Garnacho publicly expressed his dissatisfaction with receiving only 20 minutes of playing time. Just days later, Amorim told Garnacho in front of the entire team: “You’d better hope you have a good agent this summer.” In the summer window, Chelsea identified Garnacho as the ideal candidate for their left-wing position. Although Manchester United initially demanded up to £70 million, the player’s desire to stay in the Premier League and join Chelsea, coupled with a lack of other genuine competitors, led to a compromise being reached at £40 million. Garnacho made a total of 144 appearances for the Manchester United first team, contributing 26 goals and 22 assists.
