[Saba Sports News] Talented young player An Se-young criticized the Korean Badminton Association for neglecting her health and forcing her to compete, which led to a misdiagnosis that worsened her knee injury after winning the women’s singles gold medal in Paris. After the Olympics, An Se-young began a “boycott” of competitions, withdrawing from the recent Japan Open and Korea Open badminton tournaments due to her injury. Yesterday, An Se-young visited the National Assembly of Korea and had a conversation lasting over ten minutes with members of the “People Power” party, during which she complained about the unreasonable contract conditions set by the Korean Badminton Association for players. She called for a relaxation of the contract duration for new players and the abolition of mandatory use of sponsor products. After the meeting, An Se-young told reporters that the national team lacks proper business processes and is somewhat chaotic. She expressed a negative attitude towards how the Korean Badminton Association addresses issues, claiming she would only be willing to attend if an official investigation committee is established. An Se-young reiterated that representing the national team is her dream, and she has always competed with pride. If relevant regulations can be further coordinated and improved, she wishes to serve the national team and the Republic of Korea again.
