[Saba Sports News] On March 21, Korean media reported that women’s singles world number one An Se-young has been diagnosed with a partial tear of the right adductor muscle and will require 3-4 weeks to recover, causing her to miss the Asian Badminton Championships scheduled for April 8 in Ningbo, China. It is reported that An Se-young felt thigh pain during her semifinal match against Japan’s Akane Yamaguchi at the recently concluded All England Open. The following day, despite enduring pain and suffering from the flu, An Se-young defeated world number two Wang Zhiyi with a score of 2-1 to lift the championship trophy. So far this year, An Se-young has achieved four consecutive titles, including the All England Open, and has a remarkable winning streak of 20 matches. Her original goal was to win the championship at the Badminton Asian Championships, but this injury has completely disrupted her preparation plans. Fortunately, An Se-young has already devised a rehabilitation plan and aims to make her comeback at the Sudirman Cup mixed team championship on April 27.
