Wade was commentating during the US men’s basketball team’s game against Serbia at the Paris Olympics on Sunday. He repeatedly used the phrase “HE/HIM” to emphasize LeBron James’ dominance. “Him” is slang for someone being the man.
Brown’s X account mocked Wade, telling him to “do your son’s pronouns,” a jab at Wade’s transgender daughter Zaya, who was born male and named Zion before transitioning in 2020.
Following the joke, Brown said he received death threats. Brown, who last played in the NFL in 2021, has been known for his provocative and offensive social media posts over the past year.
