[Saba Sports News] According to reports from British media, Arsenal fans can pay £25,000 to skip a 30-year wait for season tickets. A large number of season ticket bonds have been listed for sale through the Asset Match platform, allowing fans to gain ticket rights by paying between £17,000 and £25,000. These bonds are long-term debt instruments issued by the club to raise funds. Fans pay a substantial sum to gain the right to purchase a season ticket, and they can transfer the seat when they wish to cash in on their investment. Arsenal first issued A/B bonds in 1993 to finance renovations at Highbury Stadium, and later issued C/D bonds in 2006 to support the move to Emirates Stadium. The redemption period for all four types of bonds is until the year 2143.
It’s worth noting that the A/B bonds originally sold for just £1,500 in 1993, which means their price has increased by about 1,500% to date. This is largely due to the current season ticket waitlist at Emirates Stadium, which exceeds 100,000 people. It is estimated that fans at the end of the list will have to wait 20 to 30 years to obtain a season ticket. Even affluent fans who decide to pay the high fees to skip the wait must still pay an additional annual fee for the season ticket after purchasing the bonds. Bondholders also receive silver bond membership, which offers exclusive priority for lottery ticket purchases, high-priority ticket transfer options, and eligibility to purchase premium seating.
