[Saba Sports News] According to British media reports, Arsenal will wear their traditional red and white kit in the third round of the FA Cup against Portsmouth. This will be the first time since 2021 that Arsenal will don their red and white striped kit in this round of the FA Cup. In the past four editions of the FA Cup third round, Arsenal has worn a special all-white kit as part of their ‘No More Red’ anti-knife crime initiative in collaboration with Adidas. Although the initiative continues to work on highlighting and addressing this important issue, Arsenal will not wear the ‘No More Red’ special edition kit in this Sunday’s match against Portsmouth. The all-white kit, symbolically removing red elements, made its debut in 2022 during the away match against Nottingham Forest. The absence of Arsenal’s traditional red reflects a desire to end the violent incidents caused by knife crime. Reportedly, in the match against Portsmouth, Arsenal will wear their usual red and white shirts with white shorts. They plan to make a slight adjustment by wearing white socks to avoid clashing with Portsmouth’s red socks. Arsenal and Adidas’s collaboration on the ‘No More Red’ initiative has entered its fifth year. While the white match kit has been a strong tool for raising awareness of the initiative, this season will incorporate different expressions and activities, focusing on supporting the local community.
