[Saba Sports News] According to Auto Evolution, Aston Martin’s new Vantage S will serve as the official safety car for F1, making its debut at the F1 Dutch Grand Prix on the Zandvoort circuit. According to Aston Martin, this car is the “most powerful Vantage ever,” its 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine hand-built, capable of producing up to 671 horsepower and 800 Nm of torque. While it can’t match the speed of a real F1 car, it can accelerate from 0-60 mph (approx. 97 km/h) in 3.4 seconds, with a top speed of 325 km/h. The car also features a new central engine cover deflector to expel hot air from the V-configuration engine faster, and a full-width tailgate spoiler to enhance downforce and balance, allowing for faster corner entry speeds and higher cornering grip. The car has undergone several modifications for F1 duty, including the addition of a rear wing and the FIA-mandated warning light bar, while the body is painted in the same “Podium Green” livery as the Aston Martin F1 team. Aston Martin Marketing Director Alex Long said: “This car is a core product of our brand. We are proud that this car will serve as the F1 Safety Car and believe it will surely race on the track to protect the F1 drivers. Overall, we are proud of this cooperation.”
