[Saba Sports News] The final day of Bahrain testing concluded with Aston Martin’s concerning performance, as the team managed only six laps. The highly anticipated squad’s extremely limited running has sparked worries. Reportedly, the root cause was a power unit failure from the previous day. After a driver encountered a battery-related power unit issue, partner Honda conducted emergency troubleshooting overnight on their test rigs in Japan. However, due to a shortage of critical components, the team, Honda, and the technical partners were forced to drastically cut the final day’s test plan, reducing the normal schedule to a very limited short run.
Simultaneously, the new car’s chassis handling exhibited obvious problems. Drivers reported a poor driving experience, including instances of running off the track. The lack of sufficient test data and reliable car setup casts significant doubt on the new car’s competitiveness and finishing rate for the season opener. Furthermore, this lag in the development progress could leave the team on the back foot for the entire season.
