[Saba Sports News] According to Spanish media reports, the four main fan organizations of Atletico Madrid have taken legal action, demanding UEFA provide the original video of Julian Alvarez’s penalty. Atletico Madrid fans’ anger over Alvarez’s canceled penalty decision in the Champions League continues to escalate. The club’s four major fan organizations jointly released a statement announcing further legal action after forensic confirmation that UEFA-provided videos had been edited. They clearly stated in their declaration: “The alliance formed by the four organizations has already sent a formal letter to the club, urging Atletico Madrid to officially request UEFA to submit the original game footage where Alvarez’s goal was misjudged. This letter is the first step in the legal strategy devised by the lawyer team; subsequent actions will be promptly communicated. We also thank the continuous support from fans, members, and various organizations.” The incident originated from the 1st leg of the Champions League Round of 16 against Real Madrid, where the Atletico Madrid fan alliance accused UEFA of publishing controversial video evidence showing signs of editing the next day. This organization submitted the video to the European Forensic Information Lab for testing, which confirmed the video was humanly edited.
