[Saba Sports News] Italian media reports suggest that Atletico Madrid fans did not like Theo Hernandez, partly why his transfer to the club failed. The report indicates that Atletico were dissatisfied with AC Milan’s asking price of 20 million euros, but fans also played a role in the failed negotiation, deeming Theo a traitor. The last time Diego Simeone spoke with Theo was in the summer of 2017 when he pleaded with him not to join Real Madrid, but Theo did not listen. The academy product of Atletico betrayed the team by moving to Bernabeu. Simeone accepted his decision but wasn’t happy about it. Relations between Theo and Atletico fans deteriorated further afterward. Because Theo has never missed an opportunity to mock the club that developed him whenever he left, Simeone was aware of this and thus never requested his return. Contact between them eventually happened, but no agreement was reached. This came as a relief to Atletico fans, though it surprised AC Milan.
